This expressive arts project is designed to help create a reminder for practicing self-care each day. Creating a visual reminder to find even small moments of self- care will encourage you to fit this important aspect of wellbeing into each day.
Fun ways to use your pocket of ideas
Place your pocket in a spot you will see and randomly choose one to do each day or once a week. Allow friends and family to add or choose a self-care idea to participate in doing with you. Create new ideas for the pocket each month. Create a work related comfort care pocket with ideas to foster care within your work team. We all feel helpless to be present for a person going through a struggle - asking them to create a pocket of ideas may be a way to bridge this gap.
Awareness about planning self-care into your busy schedule and creating reminders for your-self has a way of bringing this aspect from “I should one day…” to the importance of “I will today.”
